When I heard that Kevin Rudd had selected Quentin Bryce to be the first Female Governor-General, it showed me another reason why I’m glad I voted for him in last years election.
The fact we have a female deputy Prime Minister and now Governor-General, shows me that in the future when a little girl wants to be a leader of the nation she now has more public role models to look up to.
It’s a really lovely thing in this day and age that more and more woman are breaking through the all boys club that is still alive and well in Australia.
I know we have a long way to go still, but every step is another hurdle jumped and another reason for girls to strive for something more in their lives.
To think we might even get a female President one day, now that is something I never thought I’d see, but the way things are going, it could be a likely thing.

It is fantastic to see a female in the GG’s office. One day, we might have a female PM. My vote is for Julia.
